The origin of DTU

Originally DTU was composed of modulator and demodulator, its transmission form is to transmit encoded digital information. At that time, the transmission was performed within the frequency range of standard telephone lines, transmitted over the telephone channel to another DTU and decoded on the received side.

DTU came out in 1920s, it was used in typewriters in 1940s.At that time, DTU transmission speed was 25 bytes/second. DTU was used in military in 1958, and it was called smart DTU.

With the continuous development of science and technology, 3G, 4G and Nb IoT emerged, accordingly 4GDTU and Nb IoT DTU emerged also. Subsequently, due to maturity of short-distance communication technologies such as Lora, WiFi and Bluetooth, LoraDTU, WiFiDTU and BluetoothDTU emerged one after another.
