Principle of outdoor 4g router‌ is to connect operator’s 4G LTE network through built-in 4G module to realize remote wireless transmission data function. Specifically users insert SIM card into outdoor 4g router, then dial up network through operator’s 4G network such as TD-LTE or FDD-LTE, after connection is succeed, users can perform data transmission and high-speed Internet access with Ethernet port, Wi-Fi and serial port etc.

Outdoor 4g router usually consist of following main parts:

DDNS: Full name is Dynamic Domain Name Server, usually called “Dynamic DNS”, because ordinary broadband Internet access uses dynamic IP address provided by ISP (Internet Service Provider). If a server is established in the LAN and needs to be accessed by Internet users, the dynamic IP address can be resolved to a fixed domain name through DDNS function of outdoor 4g router such as www.junhaoyue.com, so that Internet users can use the fixed domain name access intranet server.

DHCP: Full name is Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Outdoor 4g router can dynamically assign IP addresses to hosts in the network without requiring each user to set a static IP address and distribute TCP/IP configuration parameters with DHCP function, to legitimate network clients within the LAN.

NAT: Full name is Network Address Translation, outdoor 4g router can convert IP address inside the LAN into a legal IP address and provide Internet access with NAT function. For example, there is a computer with an IP address of 192.168.0.1 inside the LAN. Of course it can communicate with other computers on the intranet through this IP address, but if the computer want to access external Internet network, then 192.168.0.1 need to be converted with NAT function, it is a legal WAN IP address such as 210.113.25.100.
